Opportunity for post-doctoral studies:
One post-doctoral position is available to work on a Heart and Stroke funded project (2009-2014) that evaluates the role of the cholinergic system in heart failure. This project takes advantage of novel genetically modified mouse models targeting neurotransmitter transporters (see Prado et al., Neuron 2006; de Castro et al., MCB in press) and uses state-of-the-art genetic, molecular and whole-animal techniques to evaluate heart function, gene expression and novel treatments for heart failure. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with Dr. Marco Prado, Dr.Vania Prado and Dr. Robert Gros at the Robarts Research Institute (www.robarts.ca), University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada.
